Quadruple Overtime

An incredible game was played last Sunday (25th March 2012) in Atlanta which ended after four overtimes. Atlanta Hawks won the game against Utah Jazz with the score 139-133. Each team had opportunities to win the game with last seconds shots but only Atlanta Hawks could do it in the end of the 4th overtime. This game was the 9th game in NBA which went to four overtimes.

Last quadruple overtime in NBA has happened on 14th November 1997 season where Phoenix Suns has beaten Portland Trail Blazers with the score 140-139.

The game was really amazing. Oh yeah! NBA, where amazing happens...

Ray Allen

Well he keeps making 3-point shots and increases his all time record to a level so that no one can surpass his record. His only rival is himself in this field.

Ray Allen named as the NBA all time 3-point leader in regular season at 11th February 2011. His 3-point made number was 2559 at 7th February 2011 at the end of the game against Charlotte Bobcats. Three days after this game (11th February 2012) Boston Celtics played against Los Angeles Lakers in Boston and Ray Allen surpassed Reggie Miller who was the owner of the all time 3-points made record until this game. Ray Allen scored three 3-point shots during this game and increased his 3-point made number to 2562. So he buried the record of Reggie Miller in history.

You can watch the game where he broke he record from the link below http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p10Oez_jBhs

So far OK but aren't you curious about his 3-point made number today (23rd March 2012)? Let me tell you if you're ready: His 3-point made number today is 2706. (WOW! This is an insane number.)

Ray Allen is in the first rank with 2706, Reggie Miller is second with 2559 and Jason Kidd of Dallas Mavericks is third with 1748. There is a huge gap with the second and third player as you can see.

Enes Kanter

The rookie Enes Kanter who is also a Turkish Naational Team member was number 3rd pick for the 2011-12 NBA season of Utah Jazz. Although he is number 3rd pick somehow the coach didn't give him much chance during the games so far.

Last night (18.03.2012) Utah Jazz beat Los Angeles Lakers in Los Angeles. And Enes Kanter played with 17 points, 8 rebounds. He played 22:52m. We hope that he will have much time during the games and will have better statistics.

2012 Trades and Dwight Howard

Finally he made a decision. He couldn't make a decision since the start of trades until the last day of trades. In the final day he announced to stay in Orlando Magic. Who are we talking about? Oh yeah! About our big kid Dwight Howard. He decided to stay in Orlando Magic until the end of the season but in my opinion he won't be in Orlando for the new season.

Well the trade ended on 15th March 2012 in NBA. The most emotional trade in NBA was Derek Fisher who is sent to Houston Rockets from Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles Lakers board didn't behave emotional and sent the Lakers' 37 years old idol Fisher from the team. It was a right decision from the Lakers' point of view but a bit brutal from a human being's point of view. Los Angeles Lakers traded Ramon Sessions from Cleveland Cavaliers as the guard. Los Angeles Lakers was playing without a guard for years. So we will see if Ramon Sessions movement will work for Lakers.

Very long time injury Mehmet Okur, a member of Turkish National Team, is traded to Portland Trail Blazers from New Jersey Nets. He will sit in the Portland's bench instead of New Jersey's anyway.

There is now a  new look of NBA after the trades but I don't think these trades will effect the results of the play offs much. There  seems to be four leading role players in the play offs: Oklahoma City Thunder, Chciago Bulls, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. (maybe five with Orlando Magic or Dallas Mavericks) None of these teams is effected from the last trade winds.

Trade Between Milwaukee and Golden State

Milwaukee Bucks traded their center Andrew Bogut and their guard Stephen Jackson with the guard Monta Ellis, forward Ekpe Udoh and the center Kwame Brown of Golden State Warriors.

Andrew Bogut isn't playing for Milwaukee Bucks since January 25th. He could appear played only in 12 games this season for Milwakuee Bucks. He played this season with 11,3 points, 8,3 rebounds, 2,6 assists and 2 blocks average. Bogut's absence is obviously a disadvantage for Milwakuee Bucks but also not the end of the world.

On the other side Monta Ellis is a very big win for Milwakuee Bucks. He played 37 games for Golden State Warriors this season with 21,9 points, 6,0 assists and 1,5 steals average.

We don't know why but it seems that nowadays Milwauke Bucks' disappointment Drew Gooden decided to "play". Last night (14.03.2012) he acquired his carreer's second triple-double with 15 points, 13 asssists and 10 rebounds against Cleveland Cavaliers in Milwakuee. (Milwaukee Bucks won the game with 115-105. Ersan Ilyasova played with team high 22 points, 8 rebounds.) With a good Drew Gooden and Brandon Jennings and fit Ersan Ilyasova with Monta Ellis added, Milwaukee Bucks can have some realistic hopes for the future.

On the Golden State side I don't think that things are gonna better for them. Only Adrew Bogut can't make much difference in the team. Besides Monta Ellis is a big loss for them.

Ersan Ilyasova

This guy who is a member of Turkish national team dazzles the fans with his performance for about one month. He began to explode his performance with the game against Phoenix Suns on 7th Februaru 2012. His point average since then is 18,4 and rebounds average is 10,7. (Quite perfect.)

On February 19th 2012 he exaggerated his performance and grabbed  25 rebounds at New Jersey which is still this season's (2011-12) record which is shared with Dwight Howard.

Well Ersan Ilyasova plays well but Milwaukee Bucks doesn't. The team's performance is below average. They are now 9th in the Eastern Conference with 17-24. Just one win behind New York Knicks (18-23). If Brandon Jennings and Drew Gooden decide to "play" then maybe Milwaukee Bucks will have a chance to appear in the 2012 play-offs.

Huh? After they join the play-offs? Oh, this has an easy answer: They will face with Miami Heat or Chicago Bulls. This means that they won't be able to pass the first round I think. They will be swept most probably. One win in the play offs against one of these teams will be a success story for Milwaukee Bucks.

Andrew Bogut's absence is really a huge disadvantage for Milwaukee Bucks. He missed the games since January 25th 2012.

Well we hope that Ersan continues to play like that for his team. So we will be proud of.

Rajon Rondo

Easy man easy!!! Calm down a little bit! OK man! You scored 18 points. Fine. But how did you grab 17 rebounds (career high) with the height of 1,85? And what does 20 assists mean in a single game? And well all of these mean a triple double. Third in this season. Nobody in NBA could make even two triple doubles yet in this season.

Who am I talking about? The guard guy there who is playing for Boston Celtics. Yes Rajon Rondo. He achieved this season's third triple-double. But his statistics last night (04.03.2012) against New York Knicks were superb. 18 points, 20 assists and 17 rebounds. Let me remind you his height: 1,85m.

In NBA generally the team of the triple-double guy wins the game. No surprises seen last night. Boston Celtics won the game 115-111 after an overtime.

He is an excellent player but in a wrong team. Boston Celtics looks like a veteran team. Next year or the year after we can see them in the bottom line of the East Conference standings.

Metta World Peace

"WOW!" I said. "This rookie guy looks too much like Ron Artest." while I was watching the game between Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat last night (04.03.2012). Then the guy on TV said: "Former Ron Artest new Metta World Peace." "Gosh! He is Ron,huh? WOW man! Thank God! They aren't twins at least." I thought.

I was seeing the name "World Peace" when I was checking the detailed results of the games of Los Angeles Lakers. I was thinking "Whoa! What an interesting name does this young rookie have." Well the truth was "a bit" different than I was thinking.

The long term NBA player Ron Artest (his 12th season in NBA) has changed his name legally to Metta and his lastname to World Peace. He has chosen Budhism as the religion and a proper name for his religion. And the last name World Peace was chosen to emphasize the peace between the youth as he said. Well to much philosopy for an NBA player, huh?

The game? Oh yeah! Los Angeles Lakers won the game against languid Miami Heat with the score 93-83 in Staples Center. It was also Kobe's third consecutive over 30 points game. And Ron Artest, oops our new Metta showed this season's best performance during the game.
